Almost died of gastric torsion, broke two legs, avoided being castrated. Was neglected in favor of Laddie.

When the credit card debt was not paid, Bart lied to the repo man and and said that his dog ,Santa’s Little Helper, is Laddie.
At the end Bart found Santa’s Little Helper who served as a guide dog to Mr. Mitchell and brought him back  home.
Laddie appears in “The Canine Mutiny” the twentieth episode of season 8.
